I am here to help clients and their families plan for, mitigate, and manage challenges that face older adults.
My name is Lisa and I have over 25 years as a Physical Therapist. I have clinical experience in all levels of care affecting adults as they age. In my experience I have found the medical community does not do an adequate job helping people as they age and they have more difficulty negotiating the medical system. A gradual decline in health and function is a part of aging, but families are caught off guard when a catastrophic event (such as an injury from a fall or a major medical setback) occurs. Rehab stays are short - you often have less than a month to arrange care. If you can afford in-home care, it may not be possible to find a reliable caregiver. I can help “translate” medical-ese and bring a rehab/problem solving perspective to the planning process. I can do on-site assessments* to determine fall risk, make suggestions on appropriate assistance levels, and train caregivers.
