Hello. It's time for you to take a deep breath and relax. Allow me to ease some of the burden. For over 35 years, I have cared for individuals (like you or your loved ones), and understand the fear, frustration, and confusion associated with being a patient. Although I believe the intention of healthcare providers is good, we can do better...to sit and explain the diagnoses (and there's usually multiple issues occurring simultaneously), to sit and listen to the patient and loved ones. As a healthcare professional, I have witnessed patients and families struggle to navigate through our complex healthcare system. My goal is to assist individuals and families to better understand their medical condition to make informed decisions and provide a smooth transition from the hospital to home or to an appropriate long-term care setting.
