Person-Centered. Purpose-Driven. Solution-Focused.
Nearly one in five American adults experience mental illness and/or substance use disorder. However, less than half receive any form of treatment, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. As an aspiring Masters-level addiction and trauma-focused therapist, I understand the importance of building relationships with treatment providers and community organizations which serve these populations. In 2019, I created South Texas Patient Advocacy in order to help individuals navigate insurance plans and access mental health services. In 2020, I worked as a chapter lead for a national organization called Young People in Recovery by providing life skills and peer supports to help people recover from substance use disorder and reach their full potential. I am passionate about recovery and seek to empower individuals and families affected by mental health and substance use disorders.
